World Day of Remembrance

  • Public Plaza at Brooklyn Borough Hall 209 Joralemon Street Brooklyn, NY, 11201 (map)

Please join Families for Safe Streets in commemorating World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

In addition to our annual reading of the names of those killed in the past year, a special "Seeds for Safe Streets" memorial will be set up to call attention to the 1800 people killed since the announcement of Vision Zero in 2014. Even one death is too many, but 1800 indicates a failure of our leadership to implement Vision Zero to its fullest potential.

Through powerful symbols of life and hope, we will express our optimism for what new leadership can accomplish.
At the event, we will ask our newly elected leaders to publicly sign a pledge committing to Seven Steps to Safe Streets.

Please join us to show your support to all of the families whose lives have been turned upside down by this epidemic.

Together we Remember, Support and Act.
Vision Zero must get back on track.

We hope to see you there.

Please RSVP so we know you are coming.

The event will take place outdoors. Please wear a mask and maintain distance.
